C3.house
wow, what a great spring break! we did a lot in such a short week's time. it was fun having melissa's brother visit us for the break. we all went to tucson & went to the air & space museum - which i totally loved. the funny part was when melissa & I were walking up to a B-52 bomber they have on display. this particular plane was the 1 that they (NASA) used to launch the X-15 hypersonic plane to test space travel! now you're probably having the same thoughts my wife had... so what's the point? well, for me, it was aerospace history right there in front of me - & i was totally flippin' out how cool it was to see it.
that's pretty cool. i saw that B-52 in the picture!
we also had an epiphany: melissa's new favorite sport to go and watch is..... PRO. HOCKEY!! "whodathought?!" i'm guessing we'll be going to a few more games.
small groups project - some of you know that we have run out of mtg. space for all of our small groups that meet on wednesdays here @ C3. the answer to that cool issue is that we have taken over an empty house on our church property to turn it into our C3.house! the house has enough space for us to have 5 small groups meeting at the same time! there is a lot of "cosmetic" work that needs to be done.
last week there were 12 students that came and helped me work on our new C3.house! so far, all the dead trees & shrubs have been cut down, lawn cut & trimmed, walls scrubbed, & carpet yanked out! oh yeah, and all the "creepy-crawlies" sprayed for and killed!
here are a few of the things that still need to be done:
-"popcorn" ceilings scrapped & patched
-stumps removed from the yard
-patio roof replaced
-carpet tack-strips removed & floor prepped
-2 closets demo.ed
-EVERYTHING painted!
